National Leadership Training
| Who: | The Building One America National Leadership Training is for leaders from a variety of sectors — including public, faith, business, labor and civic — who want to unleash their capacity to impact the social, political, environmental and economic decisions affecting their communities. |
| What: | The training is conducted by experienced organizers who direct and build large membership-based organizations in Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. |
| When and Where: | The following trainings are open to leaders from across the country: OHIO Sunday, February 26 – Friday, March 2, 2012 COLORADO Sunday, July 15 – Friday, July 20, 2012 PENNSYLVANIA Valley Forge National Christian Center – Sunday, August 12 – Friday, August 17, 2012 |
| The training begins promptly at 7:00 PM on Sunday evening and ends at 5:00 PM on Friday afternoon. | |
| Cost: | Tuition including room and board for this five night and five day residential training is: $600 for members of the First Suburbs Project. Non-members cost is $1,200 |
| Scholarships: | First Suburbs Project founding president, Jonathan Schmidt, believed that training of community leaders is essential to building strong organizations and creating effective leaders. To fulfill Jonathan’s commitment to leadership development after his untimely death at the age of 36, the First Suburbs Project established the Jonathan T. Schmidt Leadership Training Fund.This Fund assists emerging leaders who want to attend the Building One America National Leadership Training. Partial scholarships are available to leaders from First Suburbs Project member institutions and to those who demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s mission.
